Acid Wash & Discharge Effects

Spotted, bleached and discharge effects on coloured knitwear — popular in streetwear, merch and fashion. Developed by hand in Prague for brands across Europe.

About this direction

Acid wash is one of the most visually distinctive effects in garment finishing — the spotted, uneven bleaching that creates a marbled, high-contrast surface. When done well, it is immediately recognisable and incredibly effective for streetwear, merch and limited-drop fashion.

At Factory HOT, we apply acid wash and discharge effects to finished coloured knitwear — T-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts — using controlled bleaching techniques that create the characteristic spotted and marbled patterns. The process works particularly well on dark and saturated base colours, where the contrast between bleached and unbleached areas is most dramatic.

No two pieces are identical. The natural variation in acid wash results is part of the aesthetic — each garment is individual. We work from your colour reference and desired intensity, producing a test piece before full production.
