About this direction

A garment that comes off the production line is not always ready to sell. Fabric may be too stiff after sewing, shrinkage has not been stabilised, pilling is already forming on the surface, or the hand feel does not match the quality of the design. These are finishing problems — and finishing is what we do.

Factory HOT offers comprehensive garment finishing for cotton and linen pieces — the post-production steps between sewing and sale that are often overlooked but always noticed by the end customer.

Linen garments in particular benefit significantly from professional finishing: the fabric needs proper decatizing and softening to reach its full potential, and anti-pilling treatment extends the life of the surface significantly. We work with linen, cotton and cotton-linen blends across all garment types.

Decatizing is a steam-based finishing process that stabilises fabric structure, removes distortion from sewing and improves surface appearance. Linen in particular benefits from decatizing as it relaxes the fiber structure, reduces stiffness and gives the garment a clean, finished look.
